I have had the indoor unit of an AC setup removed from my front room by a local firm. The pipes for the AC were capped off, and the electrical wires were cut, individually taped and then taped together, with them then being disconnected from the isolator.

As this is not installing or adding to an already existing setup, am I right in thinking that this did not need to be completed by a certified electrical engineer? Or am I mistaken?

Are you removing the isolator from the CU as well, or just the now dead cables.

The cables were removed from the isolator and taped off. The isolator is still connected to the consumer unit at present. The isolator is staying in situ in case the AC is re-installed at a later date.

Then if you're just removing the now dead cable that fed the AC then it's fine to remove them.
