Hi,

The client doesn't want a full/partial rewire and one of the rings' IR ranges from 1.8 MΩ to 3.2 MΩ (there are signs of old wring). If a new board with RCD installed would the RCD on this ring trip? Any advice is much appreciated.

Cheers!

You have a resistance of 1million 800 thousand ohms
Use ohms law to see what current a 230 volt supply would conduct with that resistance
The test is done at 500 volt the supply is 230,bit of leeway there as well

Thanks, Des. I just wanted to have an expert advice from forum members before leaping into installing a new board. Thanks again.
