Found this on eBay, slightly worrying as it appears not to have any shutters over the live and neutral contacts :rolleyes4:

I think you have to wire the switch as you wire the socket, ie take the live feed into one side, then onto the live terminal on the socket; that way the USB interface will be switched off and it will make the socket 'safe' (apparently).
The product looks to be a good idea, poorly executed.

When I was a kid in 60s/70s we used to laugh & sneer at things with 'Made in Hong Kong or China' on them. Seems like nothing much has changed then.
