DOE supply loadings, maximum demand

Hi All,

I have a three story house to wire, with the following floor areas:

Lower ground: 144 square meters
Basement: 157 square meters
Upper floor: 94 square meters

Apart from lighting circuits and cctv, electronic gates, kitchen circuit which is of course additional

I would find the boards existing supply of 20 KVA single phase, not up for the job and would consider a three phase supply requirement, given the 17th edition regs.

Anybody else agree with this ?

Who is going to pay for that 3 phase supply it could cost thousands

20kva is approx 87 amps so I'm assuming your DNO fuse is an 80amp. Rather than the 3 phase route which is very rare in a single dweling I would look at the posibilty of the DNO upgrading that 80amp to 100amp.

Unless there is going to be a huge demand load, the with Diversity 100amp in a domestic situation should be plenty.

Thanks for the info, money would not be an object for my client, (He works in Saudia as well ). But i quite agree as to the cost implications.
