Been asked to price (rewire) a old farm house (I know it's just me being asked to price it) It has open beams that they want to keep (great start). It's a three bed, big stone walls everywhere. 24 double sockets, 2 outside lights, 10 light (x2 2 way) 2 bathrooms, oil combi boiler going in so stat and 2 channel programmer too.white accessories. x2 smokes.

Nobody has lived in the house for 10 years so nobody living there during rewire.

First fix will be a nightmare but second fix will / should be completed quite quickly.

Last one I did,

She said..."I dont want the elm floor boards liffting"

He said, I cannot have cables on the beams and certainly no holes in the ceilings"

I said "abra flamincadabra"

I think they got the point....

Good luck!

This is one of those....how busy are you, your guaranteed the work so dont want to rob anyone.

Difficult really, I would spend time working out how long each circuit is going to take, charge your rate and then add materials.

THEN....Work on £50.00 per point, I am shocked at how close this comes out at what I have spent 2 hours calculating!!!!!

I find it hard to work out a price as well when you say £50 a point is that just sockets and light points or do you count switch drops as well .

I'd do that for 3k.

What's their number???

It sounds like an easy one to me, vacant, builders on site! Anything dirty or hard work then get the builders to do it. Anything goes wrong, blame the builders! Those are two of my top ten tricks to being an electrician!
