This is my 1st post, so please excuse me if this has come up before!

If anyone can shed some light on this area for me I would be very grateful, as I seem to be going round in circles looking at other websites?

I have just finished year 1 of the C&G 2330 L2 course, with a year to go to complete. Is there a stage along this course at which I would have sufficient qualifications to practice as a domestic electrical installer, or do I need to complete L3 and NVQ L3?

Thanks

If you have only done L2 so far then all you can do is work as an improver/Mate.

To go out and work as a DI you need to complete your 17th ed (I assume you want to register with someone like NIC or ELECSA?), and this can only be done at the end of L3 if it's an update course, otherwise you can pay for the full 17th ed course now.

How much experience have you got? Have you done any electrical work at all? Do you know how to Test and Inspect and complete certs?

If you have minimal experience then my advice would be to finish L3 and possibly try and get some work as a Sparks Mate for now.

Hope it helps:D

Thanks for your advice Mark. I thought that would probably be the best option but wasn't sure of the process.

I want to ensure the standards of work I complete are to a very high level, so I will endeavour to find a local electrician to get some hands on experience and pass level 3 as mentioned.

Cheers

Mark
