out of interest whats the cost of living on Jersey? Islands can sometimes be expensive places to live
I worked there for nine months. It is reasonably expensive, as obviously everything has to be shipped in. In bad weather not only are flights and ferries cancelled, but the news is too as the newspapers can't get across the English Channel. The exception to this is the Jersey Evening Post.

That said it's a lovely place and I really miss it at times.

Blimey, tough crowd here.

£30 an hour even as a subbie, in domestic, I doubt you will get close to even if it was in London. Current jobs for sparks on Heathrow are around the rates on offer here.
And that's why they can't keep an decent labour at Heathrow, think they're only offering JIB rates plus a £2 uplift per hour?

Even the worse agencies will offer £22 an hour when pushed, worse case you should be getting £180 until 4. Most guys would rather travel to London for £20ph than go and live on jersey for a few weeks

I'm happy to work in Jersey for £17 - £20 per hour so long as the following conditions are satisfied:

1. Client pays for first-class return flights to Glasgow each weekend.

2. Free accomodation in a five-star hotel is provided Monday to Friday.

3. Hookers are supplied on a nightly basis at the client's expense.

:D:D:D

Very expensive to be fair as if you come over you'll be needing non qualified rentals so think twice the cost of locally qualified people ! I used to work for the OP and my wage was £10 less / hr as an improver but really experienced to be fair. But now I work for myself so all good but trying to get by non qualified on less than double the £17/ hr you'll struggle ! No VAT but we have 5% GST ( Goods & services tax ) or Government Stupidity Tax, and prices generally add up to Vat prices due to costs levied as Risteard said for shipping / flying in most supplies ! Awesome in the summer, miserable in Winter. Risteard is very clued up. ;)

Come back anytime buddy !
