hi, a bit of a long one, but can anyone help me.
i'm a qualified electrician, who has only ever worked on industrial installations, control panel manufacture and installation. this year i am moving to australia and i have to do a trades recognition course to get my oz license. to do this i have to do a two day practical assessment in london at the cost of nearly a grand.
my problem is that because i have only worked on production lines my domestic installation skills are seriously rusty and if i go into this practical at the moment, i won't stand a chance passing. i did a C+G 236 parts1+2 course but even then, what i was being taught had little relevance to what i was doing in my job, so i wasn't getting as much practical experience.
i'm looking for a course, preferably around the merseyside area and lasting for only a week or two, which i can re-learn about domestic installations to help me pass this exam. so far i've found two potential courses in the links below. if anyone has done these or knows of a decent course, i would be grateful to hear from you.
Multi Electrical Course Package
or the EAL Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers here:
OLCI Plumbing Courses
i found this link from someone who did the practical to give an idea of what i need to know practical assessment step by step : British Expat Discussion Forum
thanks for reading.
