door entry system, HELP!!

Im a sparky and Iv been asked to look at a door entry system, which I do not have to much knowledge about. I have found that that everything works apart from it will not ring inside the apartment when called from the outside. I have also been told that there is similar problems with other apartments at the same complex. The handset is a 2 wire Bticino 344342, the system is around 7 years old. Has anyone come across the same problem, do you think it could be the handset?

Have a look at the hand set and see if the button where the hand set rests on, is stuck. Ive had a simular problem but with a different make.

it could be corrosion on the outside press-button contact take the front off and try shorting the button contact

Thanks for the replies guys. Also its a digital system on the outside where you have to dial in the apartment number to call it

If i remember this is a 2 wire system, with 8 way splitters on each level. can only suggest, if audio/video is working to all handsets then the splitters and cable are ok. and the main unit front door has fault. if just one floor is having problems check the riser for the splitters and check them. If its random floors again main unit.
