Door entry systems

Anyone know if entryphone systems can mix and match? I have a Fermax system with a faulty handset in one of the flats, and a spare ACET handset. Assuming I get the wiring right in the handset is it likely to work?

The handset is just a speaker and a mic, with a common neg..the door release is again is a seperate cable shorted to the common....so no reason why not

Thanks, Tazz - that's what I'd hope/expect but I manufacturers also like to make things non-interchangeable! At least it's worth giving it a try.

As long as it's still a buzzer ring and not a digital ring, as above 12v in, call wire, door release and speech pair. Let me know how you get on!
