do I need to replace the whole double oven or can I get the main oven, thermostat I assume, repaired....

very likely can be repaired, but it depends what its worth to you... have a look ..... at e spares they do some videos maybe could do it yourself.... but you would need a voltage tester and few other tools to maybe test it first...

You may be able to replace the components that you find U/S but it's doubtful you will be able to repair any of them! Not these days anyway, this is the throw away age were in now ...lol!!!

Most newer domestic ovens have two elements per oven (one at the top of the oven and one at the bottom). It is unusual for them both to go at the same time. Is the oven not heating up at all, or not reaching it's set temperature? If it's the latter then maybe just one element has failed (not enough heat to reach the set temperature).

A lot of stuff they make in China, is in fact pretty good. Don't forget a great deal of what comes out of China these days are in actual fact made in/at Western company factories over there, made with exactly the same machinery and supervision levels an with the company name on it.

China is at the present time is just how Japan was when i was a lad, and everyone was complaining about imported Japanese crap!! How many now, would say anything like that about goods and components manufactured in Japan?? These day's anything made in Japan carries a premium tag to it now... lol!!! How things change, and in what is, in relatively quite short periods of time!!!

could also be the control switch/thermostat. seen a few where the spade terminals have burnt through. sometimes just a case of fitting new spade connectors to the wires onto the stat.
