Hi guys, in need of a bit of assistance if possible. I have been asked by a customer to source some 3-bar spotlights that she would like in a couple of her rooms. After checking her lighting i found there wasn't an earth present in any of her ceiling roses so am after some double insulated fittings.
I have done a lot of hunting around and this is the best i have found, but it comes at a hell of a price:
Double Insulated Spotlight 6109 Como

If any of you know of any places that stock them or something similar cheaper i will be forever in your debt!

Regards,
Dave

Yes there is one in the kitchen, which i will be changing. It is a ground floor flat and she is an elderly lady who cannot afford a re-wire, let alone the destruction of her property that a re-wire would bring!

If there are no class 1 fittings left, and she can't afford to have a cpc installed, then put a sticker in the CU mate. You know the one :)

Similar problem for me, I am looking for some fluorescent type double insulated fittings - like a T5 or T8 style luminaire. Not having much luck, can anyone else advise where to look?

Daviss I have looked around too and not much choice or value for this problem. sorry i cant be much more help. have tried contacting some manufacturers and the usual wholesalers but when i mention class II fittings they think i'm talking about Cat 2 issues - no help!

Hi guys. Sorry about the delay in replying....been a busy bee!
I'd just like to say thanks for all your efforts and replies. There is one metal fitting at present which i will take apart hoping that there is an individual earth run to it!

Hi,

I've just got off the phone from company in post 8, I'm in the same position as you with needing to replace an earthed light with double insulated. I explained that the prices are quite high and my customer may as well buy direct so the guy i spoke to (forgot the name) said if I e-mailed them they would give me a code for 10% off which only i could use, therefore i'll make a little bit on the fittings, thought it might be useful for anybody else? He said to e-mail them with company details.

As littlespark says there's no ways you're going to find spike lights that can accomodate SWA cables directly into them.
