Doing a quote for fairly standard replacement of old rewireable with consumer unit and upgrade to earthing. I haven't seen one of these double cut-outs before. The owner says the second set goes next door -though oddly I can see only one earth clamp on the sheath. Can anyone advise me if there's anything I need to watch out for on this (apart from disconnecting the neighbours), or is it pretty standard?

Thanks! IMG_1920.JPG

They have used a 3 phase head using just the 2 phases for yours and next door.

Looks like a TN-S. Just be aware that when you pull the fuse ............ooppps when the DNO pull the fuse you have 400 volts between those phases but should not cause a problem.

Make sure you pull the right fuse ........oooppps make sure the DNO pull the right fuse. hing as embarrasing as standing with fuse in hand and power still on.

Just out of being a decent chap knock next door tell them who you are and what your doing, and that your a bit concerned about the earthing arrangements and you would ike to test it for them. If there is no earth help them call the DNO who will come toot sweet, you'll sleep happy as being a nice chap, and next door will say what a nice chap should we get him to change our CU as well:D

Thanks for that - good advice! Note your point about the DNO pulling fuse, but round our way (SSE) they have issued this procedure ... wonder whether it applies in other regions (this is just an extract, btw). I just need to turn up a local depot with NICEIC reg and collect 5 seals - very civilized and practical!
