I've a C63 10kA DP MCB

Is there usually protection on both poles or is 1 pole a switch?. I'm not seeing any markings to indicate either way. Cheers.

A double pole circuit breaker is essentially 2 circuit breakers put together. If one trips then the other will.

Double pole MCB is just that - two identical MCBs joined together. I live in an area where split or two phase 460 volt supplies are common, so they have been a stock item for me.
Not to be confused with single pole plus neutral devices, which are generally available as RCBOs rather than MCBs. The neutral on these is just a switch.

Is it a single module or a double width module?
If it is double width, so 2 MCB's attached to each other, it will almost certainly be double pole.

If it is a single module width then it may be a double pole MCB or it may be a single pole switched neutral MCB. Check the functional diagram on it if it has one, or else check the part number against the manufacturers data sheet.

You can always post a picture here and we someone will probably be able to tell.

SPSN rcbos are starting to become more common but unfortunately are often being described incorrectly as DP, I'm not sure if the same is true for MCB's.
