If your adding downlights to a kitchen / bathroom and the ccu does not have RCD protection. How would you go about it? excluding ccu upgrade
 
Depending on age of current CU I would change the MCB for an RCBO.

Or failing that, I would go down the route of : henley blocks, split tails and installing a secondary CU.

Or have done before install an RCD spur and run off this.
