Long time since last posting

Am confussed been to look at some down lighters in house two on same circuit keep blowing, they use the right type of bulb but with in a week the bulb blows, now the whole fitting is not working, is it worth swapping like for like transformer or sholud the whole fitting be changed out.

On the transformers are they all standard or different types , 12 v 50w bulb, which transformer would cope with this

Cheers:eek:

Most of these downlights use the same sort of low voltage transformer, however some are better quality than others, i personally use the IBL range and have had no problems to speak of with them. The only difference may be if they are incorporated into the fittings as some are. The problem with blowing lamps may be caused by heat build up in the void the downlight is installed in.
