Hi All

Recently gutted the bathroom and fitted a false ceiling with 150mm clearance to the old ceiling, which is covered in textured paint. I'm looking to fit 5 x 12v 35w downlights and instructions only say "ensure adequate clearance". From what I've seen in the forums 150mm appears to be borderline. I don't really want to start knocking holes in the old ceiling (too much mess) - I did think of cementing a 6" ceramic tile on the old ceiling above each downlight to provide some heat insulation. Anyone see any merit to this please?

Cheers
