I have a request to put down lights in a kitchen. The size of the kitchen is 4m x 3m.

How many down lights would I need for a good standard of lighting?
Are low voltage downlights generally prefered to mains operated?

Thank you for any help

find out where ur joists are first? this may help or give u a starting point.
i usually measure mine 600mm from wall as it puts it in a nice position over work top.
work out what wattage ur total load is on bulbs, incase they ask for a dimmer?
i prefer 240 v and cut out the use of transformers as they are a pain in the backside.
also look at plans with regards to zones over sinks etc.
look at perhaps 9 lights in total?
sketch it out on paper with measurements for a rough guide?

hope this helps

:D
