I'm pleased to see that others here like the programme. They were 'interesting times': sinking of the Titanic (which started off the first episode), First World War, development of electric lighting and power, the telephone, motor cars, social change, etc.

Besides, I think that many actresses look better in the costumes and hairstyles of the period than their 21st century attire.

Me too. HandySparks, agree they were interesting times, but I firmly believe we have lived through the most exciting generation period in history - the nuclear age, the internet, the computer, flight, space travel.....I can't see that the next generation is going to have much to brag about in comparison unless some clever clogs invents

time travel

or

teleportation

or

interstellar travel ( that takes hours not millions of years)

just my opinion. If anything, we have lived in an AMAZING time in human history.
