Drawings Software

Hi Guys,

This is my first post on here, I work for a company AW Control Systems Ltd which basically does what it says in the name. We are looking into new drawing software to enable us to produce control panel drawings quickly and more accurately than our current system, which is using standard Autocad 2008. This system works ok but is slow and can be inaccurate sometimes. Does anyone have any recommendations other than autocad electrical?

Autocad elec is the dogs but you pay through the nose for it. I have had flyers etc from Smartdraw. They have a demo so worth a punt. I use Autocad LT. No auto numbering and all the gizmos but it suits what I need.

i've looked at that today and i'm not really impressed with it. yeah we would really like Autocad electrical but the price would make your eyes water. Have you ever heard of Aucotec? Got a demo of it but can't get it to run yet so I can't report on it.

I can recomend you 2 programs

ELECTRICAL Desogner based on AutoCAD or AutoCD LT (www.electrical-designer.com) or ElecWorks (elecworks TM - Software for design of automation projects) based on solidworks

For me, ED is very completed and is 5 or more times useful than AutoCAD Electrical. It's available in several modules, depends on your demand.
