Drayton remote roomstat.

I have a one of these units fitted to my central heating system. Problem is it's stopped working. I have read up on it, and it appears these particular stats have a problem, which can be repaired. I have ordered the bit thats required and at the price of £3.30 its a lot cheaper than a new stat.
My question is, has anyone had to repair one and if so how long did the repair last. or for that matter did it work?

Wouldnt know about repairing. sometimes when the battery runs out, you have to pair it up to the controller again.

Or has the relay not clicked on the scr. This can be the capacitor has failed, i believe this is the repair you are talking about.

I've checked batteries and gone through recommended checks which have led me to believe the receiver is faulty.
And yes this is the repair I'm on about.

There is a capacitor in the receiver (SCR) which can break down. I have had 2 of them do it. If you look on Ebay there are now several people offering a repair service where you send your reciver to them, they replace the capacitor and return it to you. Here is one

I did that for mine at home in november, had no problems since

Thankyou for info TCES. But I've already sent for the capacitor and will do repair, it looks fairly straightforward.
My original post was to find out if it was a common problem and if it was worthwhile doing repair,
