hello,

i wonder if anyone could help urgently please,

i have a consumer unit to change tommorow which is a dual fed ccu( 1 timed feed for heaters and 1 permenant feed),

i am a bit unsure what type of ccu to replace this with as i have been looking on the net for suitable option but cannot find anything,

my idea is to use a 17th edition ccu and take the timed feed into the main switch and have the 2 heater circuits on rcbos. and take the permenant ffed in to the 1st rcd and obviously remove all necessary links, the only problem i see with this is that joe bloggs will flick the main switch to isolate everything, but obviously it would on isolate the heater circuits,

i might be thinking into this too much, so any help would be appreciated,

oh and there is no room for a second fuseboard. thanks in advance

if i remember rightly in the regs it says that you should label the ccu to show 2 supplies,if its labelled correctly then it meets the requirements, but i did think that there was a manufactured ccu desighned for this purpose so that you would not need to remove links?

i honestly cant find anything suitable, i may be wrong but ithought you only to label it if it is fed from two different locations or is this case?

Crabtree do one but its stacked.

I know that most manufacturers will make something to suit, but it will be expensive.

I normally fit two CU's.

Never any issue then.

Wouldn't you just need - either:

Two main switches - with suitable warning notice(s) or

Four pole main switch - to comply with single point of isolation.
