Hello have an immersion where both the sink and bath wires are live when the immersion is switched on anybody come across this before ,thanks

Sink and bath wires live! i assume these wires are green/yellow. GET AN ELECTRICIAN IN TO SORT IT OUT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED, POSSIBLY YOU IF YOU DIVE IN AND HAVE A GO. In the meantime switch off the immersion heater and if possible remove the fuse from it. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MUST YOU ALLOW ANYONE IN THE BATH OR TO USE THE SINK WHEN THE IMMERSION IS SWITCHED ON OR THE FUSE IS IN PLACE.

Cheers........Howard

Ok mate, now we know its not a seriously dangerous problem, we will start again.

No disrespect, but from the wording and lack of content of your posts, i can tell that you have little or no electrical experience.
My advice is get it looked at by an Electrician, if you have dual elements, then it could be a control problem, that is just a guess. But water and electric dont mix, so it needs proper sorting out. A problem like this shouldn't take too long to sort out, so the cost will be reasonable.

Sounds like a direct cylinder which used to be E7 and is now DIY.

Probably best get an electrician to have a look. If you say where abouts in the country you are I'm sure you'll have plenty of choice from the forum members.

East Mids myself.

EDIT: Beat me to it Beaver!

I didn’t cut them back as much as I probably should have. I will try that with the next switch. Thanks
