Ok anyone seen this series on TV Dynamo he's a magician . Is it me or is it just a load a contrived crap?

Have seen it, thought some tricks were amazing like putting mobile phone in beer bottle, but then some tricks you could see how he does them.
He's pretty entertaining though IMO

Oh FFS give me a break GNS.... no offnce to you, of course, but that guy really is just like a kid who's rich dad said 'go into that magis shop and get what you want' ...he has NO talent at all when it comes to card handling or any kind of manipulation at all, he simply uses props and gimmicks VERY BADLY (if you know what you are looking at you would know how bad his handling is). Seriously, he really is a very poor 'magician' (for want of a better word....)

We watched this guy a few times recenty and all agree that he is head and shoulders better than any magic entertainers on the scene at the moment.including David Blane

Unless the laws of physics are being manipulated then its very well known that there are logical and perhaps evident reasons how these tricks are performed,but its entertainment and hats off to the guy for being by far the best magic enetertainer i have seen for a very long time

The BBC would do well to employ him to replace some of the mind numbing programmes like soap and talent contests

Hi Des,
being either of the above can and often IS an advantage so i wont let you off the hook that easily
I tried to write here that i agree that he is better than David Blaine, but i deleted that comment, because, thinking about it, whilst Blaine is missing the mark a little now, lets not forget that he pretty much brought the whole 'street magic' thing to every-ones attention, before then it was all 'Siegfried and Roy' (who i actually LOVE by the way, but just for the real theatre and cheese of it all). David Blaine is trying to push the boundaries with the newer stuff he does in much the same way as Houdini did back in his day. trouble is, people expect a little more nowadays so his 'acts' fall short of the mark. But Dynamo really is not doing ANYTHING that Blaine and Chris Angel haven't already done about 3 years ago! Add to that the fact that he has about as much personality as a tortoise on an economy 7 advert...well...I guess it's just being an armchair magician myself and knowing how his stuff is done, i want to appreciate the ART of the presentation (for instance, the great work of Derren Brown) and, sorry to say, he don't got it... but thats just me...:icon14:

as for the BBC, well you are right their 'talent pool' of Sitcom writers and the like all deserve an equal fate...
