Hello all. First post. I will in June finish my EAL Level 3 Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I last year gained my level 2 and my 17th edition wiring regs. But I am very confused as to what to do with my qualification. I have no interest in completing an NVQ or going towards a HNC. I am looking instead to start work immediately. I have no prior experience and I was wondering which sort of jobs should i apply for with my qualification. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to be very blunt and possibly unhelpful but EAL quals are a very poor substitute for City & Guilds IMO and I've worked on both when I worked in a college, EAL are on the whole unrecognised in the Industry, my advice get on the C&G level 3 if u still can or the new diploma 2357

Get your 2395 insp & testing, (1 week course) may take longer to pass though with a lot revision!!
Get a job and whilst on site do your nvq 3!
Otherwise I would do city and guilds 3.

I completed both. After I did my c&g 3 they said I needed nvq 3 lol

Well you need to start having an interest in an NVQ is become somewhat of a necessity. You need to ring around and try get work as a mate.

I would defo consider completing the electrical installation 2330 level. The structure of the course has changed a little over the last 6-12 months but some colleges still actually do the original 2330 currently.
With only the lvl 2 EAL under you belt I wouldn't consider going straight into the 2395 I would possible try 2392-10 first this wil give you good fundamentals to progress onto the 2394 then 2395.. All 3 can be completed in 10 week (1 evening a week) or full time in one week..
2392 is a prac exam with gola and the 94/95 which is the old 2391 is prac exams and written papers... 2395 to be alot harder than the others
