I`m extending my copper 15mm and 22mm water pipes from the bathroom to the cellar 30 feet away for the washing machine. the bathroom is earthed from the kithen next to it.

I`ve just seen on the net drawings showing extending pipework earthed from earth spurs taken from any power source in the rooms it goes through.

my consumer unit has been changed in the last 4 years with RCD and trips and checkd to comply with the regs.

do I have bond the extra pipes if I`m joining to copper thats already earthed from the kitchen?

:)

Under 17th edition, if your circuits are protected by a 30ma RCD, you no longer require additional bonding other than that to gas and water...at 10mm near to the gas metre and water stop cock. obviously not overlooking main bonding.

Under 16th you were required to supp bond, pipes in bathrooms and electrical items such as shaver and showers, in addition to boiler pipes, this is no longer required....if you are protected by 30ma RCD.

If you have not already...think about a 17th edition board, often dual RCD, saves having ugly yellow and green cables every where
