hi
Customer has had meter installed outside house in external box10 meters from consumer unit, cu is in kitchen at back of house.
Soooo need to install a consumer unit 10m from the servicehead/meter.
Plan to run tails from meter into house and connect to 100a isolator, then use 25mm swa from isolator back outside down side of house to kitchen where the consumer unit is fitted. ok so far,
Qustions are, is 2 core swa and use armour as earth sufficent, or if i use 3 core how do i terminate the 25mm earth on the consumer unit [and isolator end]
welcome sugestions.

true....but i would not have moved the b$ÂŁ%! meter in the first place, just put a kitchen cabinet over it.....and save a grand. yep thats what they wanted to move it, so the customer tells me.trouble is they don't want the mess of moving the consumer unit and a total rewire......so the consumer unit just moves up or down the wall a little and goes in a cabinet anyway.

I can put big black cable about a foot off the ground 300mm to the new boys. but might stand out a bit with a bright yellow/greeen wire strapped to it.

now if it was higher up could hide it with xmas lights....:D and a trellis:rolleyes: maybe a clematis or a few roses.....;)

You would treat it as a TT installation.

Indeed it would be. But that would mean having 2 things to disconnect instead of one. More margin for error. Of course, any diligent spark would...
