top of head any body,

or some body with copy of regs to hand (which i dont)

whats the REGULATION number that says terminations in sockets lights etc need green and yellow sleeving..!!

steve

cheers, i made a point of returning home to grab the regs..!!

543.3.2
last paragragraph!!! :D:D:D

you want to know the reason now dont you!

well my parents are having the bathroom refurbed and the plumber (hate plumbers who think they know electrics) has fitted 12v spot lights (which i obtained for parents ip65 90min fire ones) a ceiling fan (once again i obtained) a shaver point , spur for underfloor heating and also smashed a hefty hole to fix a back box for thermostat....

so far

no earth sleeving to any of the earth where it has been terminated on any of the items
no grommet fitted to metal back box of shaver socket
cable sheath stripped back WAY TO FAR and is not terminated inside the back box of the spur or the thermostat

cable for them items not proected from mechanical damage nor are they 50mm deep (impossible) and he has not even considered a 30ma device!!

shower currently has NO isolator other than the main switch at CU (it is however 30ma protected)

i upset my parents by telling them that i will report the person if he does not correct my findings so far! (think he is working under another guys registration number interesting to see the certificate name)

after getting parents to see my side of the argument they now fully back me and are going to confront him tomorrow..!!

WHY DID I NOT DO THE WORK??

as im not a fully registered part p spark and i belive the laws are there for a reason i wont touch it,

and plus i work a job as well i would not have the time to do work around the plumber! really wish i took it on now!!!

any ways rant over what you think!!! oh and my Elecsa Site assessment is now scheduled for 5th FEB!!! good old cancellations!!!!

cheers chaps..!

my old man is taking day off work to keep tabs on plumber as he been dragging feet last few days!! not much progression!!

will ring him about 10 and find out the outcome!! really fancy reporting somebody especially when trusted sparks pay a lot of money just to be allowed to trade let alone pick up any tools!!

steve

fingers crossed for assessment also!! :)

going over tomorrow as well so may grab a few photos if they not already been fixed!!

You might not be fully part P but from what you have said I think you would have done a better job blindfold after 15 pints.

I trust that your parents will not be paying him until he provides the certificate for the work he has done.

Good luck

Chris

well they spoke to him today!!

guess what!!!

he has the earth sleeving and grommets in the van and was just getting on with other work before he fitted them!!
BULL ****..!!!

i now got pleasure in watching him remove all fittings from connections to slip 4mm of sleving on!! what a tool!!!

oh and shower isolator he was planning to install later this week!! lol..!! talk about been caught out!!!

muppet!!!!

steve

Guess you should have waited to see if he was going to issue a certifcate then you would have really had him and the person he was using to issue the certificate.

Never mind he will come again.

Chris

Furthermore, as the left hand switch will currently not do anything, I'd try the loose brown in here:
