Currently installing some 3-phase 4 core armoureds with a separate earth, same size as the Line conductors.

The question is really which end needs to be earthed on the armoured to add protection both ends, supply end or load end.

Have heard that it's only the supply end that needs connecting, just want clairification.

Many thanks, Tom. :D

Yes, you only need earth the armor at the supply end of the SWA if not being used as CPC.

It'll be glanded both ends anyway though wont it??

I will use correct armoured gland yes, but I won't be adding a banjo and flying earth at both ends is this correct?

Will more than likely use a P-Nut after using it in my AM2 very good invention I think personally.

Piranahs are a good thing, no doubt.

But if the consumer unit is a metal enclosure and the earth bar is connected to it then surely it will earth it through the gland or is it not sufficient.

Many thanks.

i got told on my assement one year that it wasnt allowed due paint on csu, but if it was all scaped off then it was ok but bad practise so i had to replace it with a flylead and so from now on i always do this
