Hi Forum,

Need some advice.

I am upgrading a consumer unit in a block of flats. The Existing main earthing is by an Old conduit containment previously used to contain the old 6mm submains cables that has now been decomissioned. I need some advice as to where i stand in complying with the regs when i upgrade the old cu to a dual RCD CU. Its almost impossible to employ a TT system because the flat is on the 6th Floor.

Many thanks

The installation is an old one. Over the years it appears that the old cables that appears to be 6mm cabling was upgrade to !0mm. In my earlier thread i was just trying to explain what the size of the old cabling was. The 6mm cables is not used ( has been disconnected but still on the conduit that is used as the means of earthing.
Sorry for the confusion.
