I am to replace an old MCCB with a new Eaton one, the circuit feeds a few boards and the current rating for the circuit is 160A. What I'm trying to understand is the 4 trip parameters that you select yourself on the breaker. These are:

IR - Continuous current setting (A)
tR - Number of seconds to trip at 6 x IR (S)
Isd - Setting in multiples of I, for short circuit conditions that exceed the short delay pickup setting, the trip unit initiates a trip after a predetermined delay. (2-12 x IR)
tsd - Short delay time (Inst, 120ms, 300ms)

The first 2 IR and tR are fairly self explanatory, I am just having difficulty understanding what I should be putting for Isd and tsd and was hoping someone could help.

The short delay time tsd is the time before tripping on high fault currents. Like a short circuit. This is used to tweak discrimination.

Isd is for inrush currents I believe. Inductive loads etc.
