My first proper post.
I have been reading a lot of posts on here about the various accreditation schemes on the forum.
I don’t want to start another one because I think people have made then opinions clear.
I will be engaged in mainly shop fitting and furniture storage warehouses.
My question is that there doesn’t appear (On the poll) and much discussion about the Electrical Contractor Association.
This I see on ther web site it is a Trade association rather than assessment body is this worth considering as an alternative to the others.

Roy, you have said it yourself the ECA is a Trade Association and not an assessment body, so it is not an alternative to others. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you want to be accredited as competent as far as the clients are concerned, then the assessment body is what you need ( whichever one you choose). That is what the clients will ask for. A Trade Association membership is not a requirement to get work; a certificate from an assessment body might be, so you just need to decide what you really need.

So they the ECA don’t assess you technical ability?
And being a member won’t help in qualify the company to sign off work?
Don’t think I will bother with them then, I will save my money and go with the cheapest.
