Evening all,

came across this tonight. 1 flex enters timer from economy 7 spur and 2 flex come out and connect to one immersion heater. The immersion heater has 2 stats inside... Never seen anything like it.

Im looking to replace timer but don't want to get the wrong one.

has anyone come across this?

But the feed that goes into the spur is fed from economy 7 meter. Doesn't this mean it is only energised in the off peak time? I can't understand why there are 2 cables for the timer going to immersion.

Sorry if I sound. Bt timck

lol

Let me get this right the time clock is feed via a spur that's feed of the economy 7 fuse board if so no need for a time clock

The time clock is usually feed via a normal supply and the economy 7 stat is controlled via the time clock and the other stat is a 24 boost which come one when the boost button is pressed on the time clock

The timer above only has one feed going in. Customer says it only works part of the day which is a bit unusual. Thought economy 7 only runs in the evening for 6 or so hours

Thanks for trying to help. This thing has confused meconfused me

Quite simple really , You have a permanent supply to the timer and a twimerser element , which means you have 2 elements in one , one long and the other short , on the timer there is an over ride facillity that any time you want you can top up the hot water at normal rate during the day , this brings in the shorter element, the longer element is controlled by the timer itself and falls in line with the E7 period or whatever you set the clock at , this is the preffered water heating element as it is at the off peak rate , the switching in the unit allows only one element in use at a time ,not both.that's why there are 3 cables , 1 feed and 2 cables out to he twimerser!!

You can also get economy 10 where the system is powered up during certain hours of daylight times or a landlords system where it is basically timed locally and the rate is cheaper at certain times of the day............

Are the flexes the correct size btw?
