ecs and cscs

hey guys can you please explain to me the difference between cscs card and ecs card? as an electrician witch of these two i should have and please explain me why because as a new electrician i am abit confuse....

A CSCS card is a card which says you have a basic understanding of Health and Safety issues on site, a ECS Card is a card proving your competance regarding electricians qualifications. You will need both cards to work on some, not all, but some sites.

an ecs card is a cscs card, you have to do a health and safety test and send in a copy of your qualifications for an ecs card

YES your ECS card does have CSCS written on it thats true, but if you do not own a ECS card you can still take an exam for CSCS and get a certificate and card to enable entry to sites, the ECS card has CSCS is part of it, but there are thousands of construction workers who have no ECS card and so need a completely different CSCS, some site want to see seperate cards, especially sites where they are very hot on H&E, I have shown my gold card on some larger sites and they insist on seeing a certificate or CSCS card regardless. The chances of needing both are rare but some sites insist on both, Not sure if the JIB issue a certificate now as part of the card, but they used to and that can be enough for some sites.
