I was reading around the subject last night on the forum as my card is currently being verified - for the last 6 weeks - no reply to emails etc. One post I read was to get sponsorship by a college tutor as this proves to JIB/ECS that you are maKing your way to gold card standard education! I think they want to be sure that you are not wasting their time as they are quite busy!
Another route offered was to put your own name in if you are self employed. I would prefer the college lecturer route as they have someone to check with if they need to.
Takes ages to get the card - may be retired before I get mine (9th week of waiting).
