ecs test and card application

hiya everyone,i have been in the trade for 20 years and hold 236 part 1 and 2 ,am1 + am2 ,nvq level 3 (did jtl apprenticeship) .i worked for the same firm from 2000 -2010 before leaving to do a years work in another trade.i am now wanting to come back to the electrical field and am seking advice on where is the best place to do my ecs test and get a card(never had one before) also what sort of price should i be paying for tet and card as the website im on at the mo is quoting 150 pounds for the test centre at lymm (i'm in sandbach)

any help much appreciated

Go onto the ECS website,test 42 quid and then card from JIB is 32 quid.

so the package ofered by www.healthnsafetytest.co.uk/ecs at £161.94 is basically the same with someone creaming off the best part of £90 ??

i'm guessing i would be doing the health n safety course at the same test centre etc.

There's no course, just the test and card, plus the great value (£9.99) ecs revision booklet that's available as a free download on the JIB website....

Have you got the 17th edition, as you will not get an ECS/JIB card without one.

If you can get to a JIB centre the ECS test should be 35 pounds and the grading and card about 40 pound

no not got the 17th yet(booked on to do it) .with the quals i have at the mo will i be able to gt any form of ecs card to enable me to work on sites for an agency?(either as electrician or mate )

Looks like it.
You can book it directly from Unite or the ECA. As mentioned the revision material is a waste of money - you can download it for free.

I think you could get a CSCS card and work as a mate on site for now.
