EEBADS or ADS

Hi ive just started to test installs on a regular basis again and am not 100% sure when to enter EEBADS or ADS in the protective measure(s) box. Also would the ADS time be different depending on the earthing arrangement TNCS,TNS or TT etc?

EEBADS is 16th edition.

Replaced now with ADS.

Dont see the point of even having the box if all installs are ADS. Also what would the disconnection times be for a TNCS system 0.4? Also no I am about to do the 17th amongst other things. A bit stale at the moment. Thanks for your help fellow sparks

I'm pretty sure everything under 17th is 0.4

I think you'll find there are more disconnections times than just one in the 17th regs

you still have automatic disconnection of the supply - but supplementary equipotential bonding can be omitted if there is rcd protection.


..........you still need main bonding to the gas and water.

Not all installs are ADS, most of us here will have installed and/or worked on systems utilising other protective measures, hence the box.

And every extraneous conductive part is effectively connected to the main earthing terminal
