Our country needs to get back to taking responsibility for our own internal affairs and not sub contracting our democracy to a distant entity.
I'd like to see the UK government focus some of the money saved from leaving the EU on developing the most deprived areas of the UK in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
I'd like to see more celebration in the media about the constituent elements of the UK, what makes us a great island nation, respected around the world.
UK history needs to be better taught in schools.
I'd like to see more respect between constituent elements of the UK.
More collective cooperation, less infighting and people griping.
I'd like our government to put limits on immigration from Poland, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.
I'd like our benefits system to change, so that people coming to the UK can only receive benefits after contributing to our system for x number of years.
I'd like our government to put an upper limit on how much money UK individuals / families can claim from the state.
There are too many home grown parasites, taking advantage of our system.
We should stop promoting foreign nationals with large families to the top of the housing list.
Everyone should be treated equally and have to join the same housing list on a first come, first served basis.
I'd like our government to take deposits from foreign students entering the UK- to be returned on graduation.
Individuals choosing to not study - caught working, could be removed from the country and their deposits retained.
I'd like our goverment to incentivise work.
People out of work should be allowed to transition from benefits into work, with their benefits removed after a period of employment.
People have been taught to expect things for free, in preference to earn the right to gain things.
Foreign individuals commiting serious crimes should loose the right to stay in our country.
People shouldn't gain the automatic right to stay in our country by having children on our soil.
There should be a clear path to help foreign nationals integrate and progressively earn the right to citizenship.

Imagine getting taken away from your parents to be forced to learn another language, then coming back 20 years later when you had been "tamed" to find out that your mum and dad had been run through/hanged and your brother and sister had been "Barbadoed" and the family home torched.......that's why history is only glanced over in schools......

Is everyone trying to upstage on word count alone lol .... been some of the most extensive posts on this issue and TBH had a good time shuffling my opinion in there as well as reading others for or against..:smug:

We're all getting humped and pumped just like a cheap stuffed toy won at a summer fair by a Belgian poodle anyway.....one of those queer ones with a big pink bow called fee fee sparticus sparky the third or something like that...

i have to say, there have been some marvellous posts on this subject - from both sides of the debate. i think des deserves a lot of credit for keeping this thread going. i don't agree with his politics, but i've enjoyed reading his arguments.
