Does anyone know the best way to fill in an EICR for a multiple board installation in which nearly every board has C1 or C2 faults, so that the owners of the factory will sit up, take notice and more importantly take action to remedy some of the faults found.

be honest. reference the report to the regs and if required, remindthem of theior responsibilties under the law.

I say to my clients to get quotes for the work. So far they have chosen me to do it. I think it proves to them that im jot finding faults with things for the sake of extra work. I also have no problem pulling out the regs and going through the issue with the client.

I always do a separate recommendation/observation sheet covering the whole installation and number it so it forms part of the cert.
Good idea biff has though to type in red for code 1. might try that myself. cheers biff.

snap, beaten to it.

I like the sound of that biff. I think that is an idea that i will steal.

feel free.
did 4 months of testing at beginning of year , hundreds of pages of reports.
highlighting serious defects with red helped the client find urgent repairs amongst lots of black text.
looked good too.

I too usually add additional typed up sheets to a large report under the different category headings listed in order of severity i.e all C1's first with appropriate regulations etc followed by C2 & C3, as trying to cram everything onto the actual report pages can be a bit much for the client to take in and ends up a blur of words in their eyes.

A seperate list of other observations is also useful as there just isn't room on the actual report IMO.
