If you have electrical work available, then you are in the correct forum.
Post details of the position you have on offer in this forum. Domestic / homeowners are also welcome to post electrical work they have available on their property. Or you're welcome to seach for a Local Electrician in our directory.
I have an investment property (1 bed, Milnsbridge, Huddersfield) which I need an EICR for.
But there is a very corroded looking section. Forgive my naivety, but I'm assuming this is connected the electrical board. Is that the case (see pic)? The board is in the kitchen which is a cellar kitchen.
I'm guessing I should get this fixed before booking the EICR (please feel free to quote if available!) Is this relating to the supply cable? If so, do I ring 105 as I'm also concerned about any possible danger. God knows how I didn't notice this before buying the property!
You don't do anything to that cable. It is the property and responsibility of the distribution network operator. If the outer sheath is heavily corroded and possibly dangerous you need to call the DNO and have them send an engineer out to properly assess it.
Looks like your main supply prior to the suppliers cut out and therefore their responsibility. If you have concerns contact your network operator and ask them to check it out.
Question to the forum massive - Is that one of the shared feeds to the cutout and then going to another property? Haven’t seen one before but know they exist.

Thanks everyone, some great (and friendly) info on here. I'll call DNO first (hopefully for some peace of mind) then book the EICR. Do any of you have a recommendations that cover the Huddersfield area?
