Hi all
Did my ELECSA assessment, and for those that say it is a doddle, you are wrong. The guy was great, really helpful, but loads and loads of questions covering loads of things.

How did it go, 1 Observation, did not fill in a couple of boxes on a form and 1 notificatio, which I have done (hole to big for the cable in the bottom of the counsumer unit, IP2). Very fair and helpful, nerves got me a bit on the questions, but he helped guide me to find em, even when I said the wrong things, suggested I needed to look things up in the onsite guide etc.

So that is it for me, the tea and biscuits did not get used and it took 3 hours.

Generally was please with the process and I thought it was a good assessment process and checked out that I new what I was doing, so not just about the money.

Well that is it from me, now I hope to get some work, well not hope, need some, so if anyone around Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire etc got any work, then I would be pleased to get it, kids want presents for xmas, lol.

regards

David

The first one is always the hardest. Once you have your first year complaint free under your belt, you will find that next years is just a formality. That said you still have to tow the line and be on top of your game, no place for complacency. I have my fifth assessment sometime this month, and he will get me on something again.

Glad you did ok and good luck.

Cheers.......Howard

Well done aircooled,

I've got my assesment on 6th Dec, I live in Leicester but have to show him a Job in Derby so I have a felling they're going to want anothe r £160 off me for a full day assesment. Any guide on the questions the chappy asked? I'm taking the assesor to a 2 bed terrace that I've done a ringfinal upstairs another downstairs, 2 separte lights circuits, 4mm radial to kitchen and 2 extractors and 3 interconnected smoke alarms. I'm pretty sure he'll find something some where to pick me up on but would appreciatte any help matey

Hi

he covered a good many things, such as RCDs, earthing, sample questions from all parts of building regs (a, b f, l, m) etc, I will try to get some stuff down, but he was helpful and the onsite guide is crucial, all questions and answer were in there. You do not need to know it, just work on knowing how to find things. He wanted to know RCD times, earthing rules, looks at your paperwork, so be organised. I will try to write some more stuff, but your guy may do stuff differently. Anything I can do to help, let me know. Dont panic, they do help and are just trying to make sure you are safe, know where to look for answers and that you have the right idea about doing the work.

David
