Electric bike battery problem

Hi,
I have an electric bike and the battery stopped charging. It's a Viking battery

Viking e-Go Hopper Eco-Stepper E-co Electric Bike Replacement Battery.

The charger has been tested and it works compelety fine-it works connected to the mains.I also ruled out fault with battery itself as I was able to use the bike until the power run out.Now I cant charge it anymore . I opened the battery and I think problem is with the socket of the battery where the charger goes in - maybe the wires have detached from the battery unit inside.Im still unsure what the problem can be and i rely on your advice or suggestions.I took some photos of this socket -one from outside and few of the inside . There was a loose ring around it.Please help me with the suggestions how to fix it myself/what piece is needed to make it charge again.Sorry, Im not an expert i dont know correct names of these parts .I cant really afford repair service.I would be very grateful for your help.

From the second photo it looks like the wire has become detached from the centre pin of the socket. If it has then anyone who has a soldering iron could easily re-solder it. Not sure why that metal washer is there, but I would move it away from the wires to prevent it shorting out. In fact, if it has been shorting the two connector terminals out then that could be part of your problem.

Unusual choice of charging socket that (a phono connector, usually used for audio connections).

agree with DPG ,Yep Get the old soldering iron out looks like the connections come off

Thanks for your replies.Indeed, it's a phono connector , like this one

I have managed to establish that the cable (its actually two joined small cables)is attached through the tag washer of that connector (as on the photo) but I think before there was also another connection. Perhaps , it should be where I put the yellow line , however cable fit tight and it wont be able to reach the end to join it and there is absolutely no other cable there to connect there .Can you please tell me which part should be soldered to what ir order to make it work again. I have never done any soldering and will ask a friend to do it for me but he will need to know what should be soldered or if anything else is needed . Thanks
Anna

Looks more like this would be a suitable connection, your yellow line would short out the connector.

one cable should go to one terminal the other cable to the other point.

I don't understand why that washer is on AFTER the nut. Am I not seeing things properly? Daz

Thanks for your reply. Please note, that there is no any wire there-so connection like that cant be made , it was just loose thread from the insulation tape.Under this black insulation there are two cables but they are joined together and soldered to the tag washer.

I'm 90% certain that the wire just needs cutting back, re-prepping and re-soldering, with the missing connection as you said where the yellow line is. Get someone who's handy with a soldering iron and I'm sure it will be apparent when they see it. Let us know how you get on. Daz
