i've just moved in to a maisonette and the hobs not working. So i've ordered a new hob but as i went to fit it i noticed it was coming off the same feed as the oven, a 40amp 6mm t&e radial. Now i've learned of late that it really needs a seperate feed of its own, is this true ? Any help is appreciated guys

It will depend on what they both are. If the oven's a plug in fan assisted type you may be ok. Any chance you can find out the ratings of them, in watts, kwatts or amps?
I'm assuming the new hob's electric?
By the way, unless the cooker 6mm cable is clipped on the surface for its entire length it shouldn't be on any more than a 32Amp MCB!!!!!

Cheers for the reply mate. Not sure what the ovens pulling but i know its not fan assisted. The hobs 4kw. I'm begining to think it requires an extra circuit. Thanks again eggstar
