Electric cooker

It would depend on the rating/type of cable used, use ohms law to determine your current and look up the cable of choice's CCC in the back of the reg's book.

Am I right that 230v 7kw requires a 4mm2 cable from the cooker to the connection unit?

A 4mm2 Flat twin & earth cable has a CCC of 37Amps clipped direct, reference method C.

I think the method of using FT&E from Cooker connection unit to cooker is of mixed opinions and some may feel this choice of cable is not the best choice.

I see you haven't started your course yet Lee, do you have your copy of the 17th edition BS7671 yet, this would make it simpler to refer our posts to the relevent appendix etc to help you out.

Hi dark wood I need to update that I'm in Trainning doing electrical maintenance, haven't got 17th edition as of yet

OK - it just helps when giving advise that the mentors know if you have the regs or not, I would put it on your xmas list if you can, its invaluable for referencing graphs, tables charts etc and makes explaining any queries you have a lot better if we can guide you to the relevent regulation :)
