you need one of the equestrian ones that they use for horses, they work from a 12 v battery or mains, just clip it to the fence rail and hey presto owww ya feecker,it wont kill anyone but will give them a free buzz..cost around ÂŁ130 from equestrian suppliers..perfectly safe for use on feral animals as well as horses..

So have I mate, when I was younger I was an assistant "cattle hand" on a dairy farm we used electric fences off a car battery to stop the cattle taking too much of a fresh field each day and trashing the whole field before they had chance to eat the "nice grass".
I was taught to test it via a blade of grass, you got a kick but no where near that bad if you did it that way.
Mind that IIRC was before the new standards so it may have had a bit of current behind it too!!!

think the chap wants to seriously hurt the Ferrell youth of society!!

Nice sentiment but it’s a long time in jail when some one gets hurt / killed.

Over the years there have been numerous prosecutions for home made electric fences. One I remember the guy used 230V with a 1K resistor and a 1-amp fuse thinking that would be enough protection. He was just trying to keep the local cats out of his roses!

i stumbled across one of these kits on screwfix the other day wasnt that expensive either i think id go with telectrixs idea barbed wire connected via mains, think of the possibilitys if the barbed wire was suspended via insulators and other wires were earthed you could have them switched via a PIR maybe lol

Apart from the planning issues there is the fact that JoeBlogs COULD touch it kid on daddys shoulder ect ect ASDA applied for planing permision to fit electric fence ontop of a 12 ft wall and were refused for some reason of causing injury
