Electric meter fitter

I'm looking to find work as an electric meter fitter in the South West. Any of the vacancies list the 'three phase electric meter installation certificate' as a requirement to apply. I have the city & guild electrical installation certificate. I'm not currently working as an electrician. I would welcome any advice on how to gain the meter installation certificate and how best to find work as a meter fitter. Thanks

If they take anyone off the street now to become ''Meter Fitters'' and only give them 2 or 3 days training before being let loose, then i'm sure you will have no problem!! Single phase or 3 phase metering. I suppose your talking about external 3 phase CT metering here??...lol!!

Ct metering is using current transformers, like in sub stations, found loads of these last week, steel core with. Copper windings. I think op is asking about direct in and out metering.

Think your talking about PT's rather than CT's!! ...lol!!
