Electric Safety certificate

I would like to know if a Electric installation Certificate for a new consumer unit can be use as an Electric Safety Certificate for a landlord?

I doubt it a FULL PIR would be required IMO but some of the guys will know better than me as Commercial doesnt realy come into landlord things

It seem`s a grey area, as a electrical installation certificate as every safety checks as a PIR

Testingwise both are same but PIR involves a bit more, I guess. Check out the following sample certificates:

It all depends what is required, and what work has been carried out.
If a new installation has been carried out, then an EIC would be sufficient.
However, if or only an addition or alteration to an existing installation has been carried out, or no work at all, then a PIR/EICR will be required.
PIRs are what is usually refered to as Landlord Safety Certificates by laymen.
Ther is such a thing as a Visual Condition Report, something I believe the NICEIC have introduced.
Not something that I'd have anything to do with, but some people are happy with them.

Hi, here is the sample NICEIC certificate for visual condition report (http://www.niceic.com/Uploads/File2057.pdf) and you can copy that layout (not word by word, ofcourse) and make your own in word format.
