Dear All

I am new qualified electrician, I am still on the learning curb, please bare with me.

I want to install an electric Shower in tiled and finished bathroom, can i run the electric cable from the ceiling in a trunking enclosure ?

I never done this before, all electric showers I have installed were with barried wiring.

your help is much approciated

i'd prefer to remove a tile or 2, bury the cable, then refit the tile/s ( assuming , of course, that i hadn't knackered them )

it will be very hard for me to remove these tiles without damaging them, plus these are old type tiles, I don't know if there are still on market.

any otheradvice will be much approciated.

Thanks to all for these valuable suggestions.
I think I have no choice
- I cannot remove the tiles, I have confirmed this with the customer.
- I cannot drill through to the outside wall because there isn't any.
The only choise I have left with is surface wiring, I like the idea of Chrome coloured plastic pipe.

Bonding, RCD, Part P are on the plan.
thank you All

Hi Msad, Welcome to the forum. I do hope your on a learning curve mate and not a "learning curb" otherwise your going to find electrics hard going. Oh, by the way the learning curve is life long in my experience.

Hi MarkieSparkie, thanks for spotting the typing mistake,
I am an electronic engineer for 16 years, the electric side of the industry is always something I wanted to Do, I love it ….

Lack of info in the original post if this shower is being fitted on a stud or hollow wall then the cable could easily be concealed in this along with the water pipe

Sounds like a right nightmare, talk about having your hands tied by the customer.

I can't imagine anything worse looking than having trunking running to a shower unit. What a dogs breakfast.
