I haven't done a course but I was looking into it last year. I think if you can follow the code of practice you are there.
Apart from shaking your head in disbelief at the required practices.
Some of the parts suppliers also do installs and they tend to say that full training will be provided, though that training is likely put that there and this here!
For the cost of the code of practice it is probably worth buying (or just reading amd 2) and see if you think it warrants a training course.
I do seem to remember that there was some discussion about being proved to be competent by a course, as with so much of BS7671.
