Hi the extension that I have been called to has 2 electric windows in ceiling thet are ran off the kitchen ring main to an FCU with a 5amp fuse up to a 2 way toggle switch, then from the switch to 2 seperate isolation switches for each window.

Now when you have number 2 window on and number 1 window is isolated number 2 works fine but turn number 1 on and it blows the fuse in fcu now if you isolate number 2 and run number 1 on its own it blows the fuse in fcu.

Had a look at the wiring and all looks fine no lose connections or obvious shorts, did a few tests and found that power was not getting to the isolation switch on wndow 1 wondering if the switch has had its day and its worth replacing them first before anything else.

Has anyone worked on electric windows Thanks Matt.

you have power to the window no'1 but i suspect faulty window motor or the lesser probable faulty window sw1, if you have a window wiring plan to post it would be better, if you suspect a faulty control switch then swap the switches over if same, if window 1 still blows fuse then its the wire to window or the window motor.
